Role Overview

Ooredoo Group Strategic

Sourcing is responsible developing and implementing a sourcing strategy alignedwith Ooredoo group strategy (growth, financial, brand etc.) and which matchesthe needs of the group OpCo’s in their respective markets.

It’s scope is coordinating

sourcing activities and negotiating best terms with suppliers on major spendcategories for Ooredoo Group through managing suppliers centrally wherepossible to ensure a ‘one voice’ strategy is communicated and to driveperformance measures across all category sourcing to be implemented.

This role supports that

aim through supporting the Network Services Category leads in their sourcingactivities.Role Accountabilities


definition and communication:

  • Manage assigned network category(e.g. Services, Ancillaries), developing and executing centre-led sourcingstrategies and coordinating locally-led sourcing activities
  • Interact with Group CxOs and OpColeadership teams to define the category sourcing roadmap for implementation ofcategory sourcing initiatives.
  • Manage the internal and externalcategory profiling (i.e., spend analysis, demand analysis, supply marketanalysis) and identification of potential levers to lower total cost
  • Support the Network Sourcing Directorin defining category specific sourcing policies and procedures (e.g., singlesourcing, supplier panels, etc.)
  • Build strong collaborative networksand communicates with internal Group stakeholders and relevant OpCostakeholders to ensure alignment on the category sourcing strategies
  • Effective communication andpresentation of vendor selection recommendation and project updates to Group Management team,

Tendering, negotiation and contract


  • Manage categorysourcing activities, supervising centre-led and locally-led sourcing teams
  • Manage thetendering process, evaluation of submissions and selection of suppliers
  • Manage thedevelopment, negotiation and implementation of Group Sourcing Contracts (GSCs)on behalf of Group OpCos, leveraging the consolidated buying power of theGroup.
  • Conducteffective change management with stakeholders post-implementation to realisevalue from initiatives
  • Manage contractchange requests from OpCos and escalates to the head of Sourcing as appropriate

Supplier relationship

management (SRM):

  • Support thedevelopment of suppliers’ KPIs and scorecard and manages the collection ofsupplier performance data
  • Manage therelationships with suppliers to drive improvements in supplier performance andconducts regular supplier reviews

People management:

  • Supervise Group Sourcing Buyers and local sourcingteams on category sourcing activities, provide guidance and support, monitorand prioritise workload

Performance reporting and compliance:

  • Support thedevelopment of measurable category objectives and targets, and produces regularreports
  • Promote compliance across OoredooGroup on GSCs and Group policies, processes and procedures

Experience & Essential Knowledge

  • Minimum 12years relevant procurement or category management experience, of which 5 yearsshould preferably be in telecommunications
  • Experience of managing Network Services categories and supporting the

    implementation of sourcing initiatives

  • Expertise in managing suppliers
  • Experience in MENA preferred
  • Fluent in English (both written and verbal)

    Qualification Requirements

    • Minimum Bachelor Degree qualification, preferably should be in Electronics & Telecommunications discipline
    • Preferably certified by a relevant professional body (e.g., CIPS, CPM) or qualified with a relevant Master’s degree (e.g., Supply Management)
